RICARDO BÁEZ

Ricardo Báez (1983) is a Graphic Designer, Editor and Art Director who graduated with professional merits from the PRODISEÑO School (Venezuela) dedicated to editorial design, exhibition design and cultural identity design; having a deep interest in the design, research and promotion of Photobooks. Báez is the third Venezuelan designer to be part of the International Graphic Alliance (AGI, Switzerland) since 2022 together with Santiago Pol and Álvaro Sotillo. He has taught design classes and workshops at Lens – School of Visual Arts (Madrid), in the annual CAMPO Fotolibros program (Argentina/Mexico) and at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (United States), as a guest professor.

His most recent awards include: Certificate of Excellence, ISTD International Typographic Awards 2024 (England, 2024), First Prize at the Fiebre Photobook Dummy Award (Spain, 2023), First Prize at the Paris Photo - Aperture Foundation Award (France, 2017) and Honorable Mention in “Best Book Design from All Over The World” (Germany, 2018). He is co-editor with Sagrario Berti of the book “Printed Photography in Venezuela” (2019), co-editor with Eduardo Castro of the book “Deconstructing the Sistema Nervioso of Lange, Brändli and Chalbaud” (2023) and co-author with Gonzalo Golpe and Alejandro Marote of the book “Curso/Discurso” (2020). He currently lives and works in Caracas, Venezuela, from where he works with a multidisciplinary team located in Chile, Madrid and Uruguay.
